NCCOAST to Produce and Publish NCCOAST
Business Journal
Carteret County will soon have a new business
magazine to promote the area as the “right place to do business and
establish industry” in North Carolina. The inaugural issue of the NCCOAST
Business Journal will be published in mid-February, according to Tom
Kies, CEO and Publisher of NCCOAST Communications, which is based in
Morehead City. “We believe the time is right to launch a new
business-oriented publication here in Carteret County,” Kies said, “and we
are doing so with the full support of the leadership at the Carteret County
Economic Development Council (EDC) and the Carteret County Chamber of
Commerce.
“In fact, we view the EDC and the Chamber as our partners in this effort,”
he said. “Having the backing of these two business organizations assures us
that there’s a definite niche for a high-quality magazine that focuses on
doing business in this market.
“The full-color NCCOAST Business Journal
will be published six times a year and be direct mailed free-of-charge to
Carteret County EDC and Carteret County Chamber members, as well as to other
business and opinion leaders throughout the region, North Carolina and
neighboring states,” Kies said. “Our initial press run will be 10,000
copies, and the project will be supported by advertisers who want to reach
this target audience of influential, decision makers.”
Dave Inscoe, Carteret County Economic
Development Council Executive Director, said, “From all indications, this
will be a first-class magazine that will be an effective marketing tool for
our office to use in the recruitment of business and industry that can bring
new jobs into the county.
“There are many advantages to locating one’s
business in Carteret County, such as the lowest property tax rate in the
state,” Inscoe said. “The new NCCOAST Business Journal also will
enable us to go in-depth on many of the important issues that influence
strategic site selection decisions.”
Chamber President Mike Wagoner said, “Another
primary objective of the publication will be to showcase our existing
businesses and entrepreneurs who excel in the areas of innovation and
customer service.
“We are confident that the magazine will
creatively position Carteret County as North Carolina’s preferred business
address,” he added.
Tricia Morris, Managing Editor of NCCOAST
Communications, will be responsible for the editorial content of the
publication, Kies said. Morris serves as managing editor for seven
additional NCCOAST magazines and six accompanying in-house websites. An
editorial board will help determine issue themes and content. Kies and
Morris will represent NCCOAST Communications, and other members will be Dave
Inscoe, Mike Wagoner and Dr. Joe Barwick, President of Carteret Community
College.
